The Conseil d’État

Redesign of the Ariane Applications

Coexya is supporting the Conseil d’État in the deployment of research applications designed to make jurisprudence more easily accessible.

In 2022, Coexya assisted the Conseil d’État in modernising its applications to provide users with a unique and collaborative experience.

The Conseil d’État, one of the key pillars upholding the rule of law in France, rules on disputes between citizens, companies and associations on the one hand, and public administrations on the other.

As the guarantor of the rights and liberties of every individual before the administrative courts, the women and men who compose it work daily to accomplish this mission entrusted to them by their fellow citizens.

To do so, they must consult extensive jurisprudential and administrative databases in order to handle ongoing and future cases effectively. These databases include a wide range of documents: decisions, analyses, submissions and judgments issued not only by the Conseil d’État, but also by the Tribunal des Conflits, the administrative courts and courts of appeal, as well as the National Court of Asylum.

Different search applications, one shared ambition:

Facilitating the Work of Magistrates While Improving Information Sharing
To fulfil this ambition, the Conseil d’État entrusted Coexya with the role of integrator to unlock the full potential of the search engine based on Sinequa’s solution. Our expertise in this field, combined with our support methodology, enabled us to gain an in-depth understanding of the specific needs of legal professionals and to develop high-performance tools adapted to their work.

Discover our Search offering

From a Search Engine to a Real Decision-Support Tool Serving the Rule of Law

Among the new features developed by our teams, the Conseil d’État can now quickly access the information it considers relevant, notably thanks to:

  • Section-based search: to run queries within a precise part of a legal document
  • Copyable citations: to easily and quickly share a document’s metadata
  • Document baskets: to help users manage their documents by marking them as favourites

And because the work of magistrates constantly evolves as the legal environment adapts to the needs of our society, we closely monitor the emerging challenges faced by the Conseil d’État. Following the redesign of the Administrative Case-Law Classification Scheme, Ariane will enable users to easily browse former classification categories from the new structure.

Our teams have worked regularly and closely with the Conseil d’État, particularly with a small group of users during scoping workshops, to ensure that the solutions we delivered effectively meet business needs.
