Overhauling its document output chain

NewCOM: a Quadient CCM platform to unify outbound written communications

Groupama managed its outbound written communications  (claims letters, benefit statements, premium receipts) through around ten legacy document output chains and more than 25,000 document templates spread between the national level and the entities. With its existing solution reaching end of maintenance, the group launched NewCOM, a multi-year programme to replace these chains with a single CCM platform. Coexya has supported Groupama from the programme scoping phase through to its deployment in production.

A legacy document output chain at odds with the group’s ambitions

Each year, Groupama issues more than 150 million outbound communications (letters, emails, SMS), produced by some twenty business applications relying on more than five different composition solutions (ADS, Compuset, Open Print, Word, Velocity…). This fragmentation, combined with a legacy document output solution that offered limited functionality and had reached end of maintenance, held back change and made template maintenance more complex.

To transform its communications in both substance and form, secure and industrialise its processing, and adopt a scalable architecture, Groupama launched the NewCOM programme: a cross-functional CCM platform built around Quadient, selected following a software vendor call for tenders run with Coexya. As the first Quadient integrator in France, Coexya was chosen to support the project from strategy definition through to delivery.

A platform built workstream by workstream, with an agile approach

End-to-end support, from scoping to ongoing support

Since 2018, Coexya has been involved across the whole NewCOM programme: audit of the existing estate, definition of the transformation plan, drafting of the vendor call for tenders, management of benchmarks and support with solution selection, followed by programme management, design of the application and technical architecture, development of the document output chain and creation of documents in Quadient. Since the first use case went live, Coexya has also provided migration, support and ongoing enhancement of the platform.

Document governance to manage more than 25,000 templates

The NewCOM platform was built iteratively, through several workstreams run in parallel: integration of the application platform, document design and migration, communications governance (document standards, template rationalisation and pooling, delegation of design to the entities), data management, demand management, acceptance testing and change management for the design teams.
